The downtown Decherd festival will return with the theme of “Potato Festival”. The festival will include arts and crafts, live music, food, potato soup and salad cook-off and more. There will be a silent auction providing a chance to win gift certificates to local businesses, art, gift baskets and other prizes.
Potato Festival Schedule
April 2nd, 2022 Begins at 10 am and ending at 6 pm

Vendor Check-in
At Hank Weddington Park. Vendors need to be at their spot by 9 am.

Lil’ Spuds (Kids) zone
Activities are at the Hank Weddington Park and will be managed by the Highland Rim Habitat for Humanity and Nissan.

Potato History
The Festival begins with a little history of Decherd and the Potato Industry provided by Mr. Rudder.

Prize Giveaway Drawing
Sign-up at the Silent Auction tent. Winners will be drawn ever 45 minutes. Winners will be announced from the stage. You do not have to be present to win.

Eye of the Potato Parade Begins
The parade begins behind the Babe Ruth Field – Jim L Sanders Park. Check in starts at 10:30. Parade will proceed down Main street and end at Hank Weddington Park.

Seed Swap
In need of gardening seeds? Want to meet fellow gardeners and seed lovers? Bring seeds, bulbs or plants to share and exchange them for different and interesting variates. Plenty of free seeds available compliments of the Decherd Co-op. Seed swap tent is located beside Silent Auction tent.

Silent Auction
Corner of East Main and Front Street (beside Hair It Is). Winners announced at 2:45 at the Silent Auction Tent.
12:00 Noon – 3:00
Potato Cook-off Contest
Check-in at the Silent Auction tent and you will be directed where to set up. Competition is for Potato salad or Sweet potato casserole. Final judging is at 3:00 with winners announced at 3:30. The public can purchase 2 voting tickets and a fork and dish for $1. See Cook-off Rules for details.
